Hello, I’m Rob. I am currently based in Kyoto Japan, where I work as an English teacher. This role reflects my passion for communication, leadership, and cross-cultural understanding, while strengthening my ability to adapt and lead in diverse environments.
Previously, I spent four and a half years in IT support and leadership, where I genuinely valued the company culture and took great pride in supporting United States veterans and helping ensure they received the highest level of technical support and service. During this time, I progressed from Technical Support Agent to National IT Service Desk Supervisor in just two years, leading a team of 16 agents focused on service excellence and operational performance.
My transition into IT was built on a 15-year career in retail sales leadership, where I developed a strong foundation in team management, customer experience, and problem-solving.
To formalize and expand my technical expertise, I have earned multiple IT and cybersecurity certifications, including the Google Cybersecurity Certificate and CompTIA Network+, Security+, and CySA+ certifications. I continue to develop my skills through hands-on labs and platforms such as TryHackMe, Hack The Box, and PicoCTF.
I hold a Master’s degree in Management and Leadership and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Western Governors University.
